iPhone 4 vs. Google’s Android: Success rate

As we all know, Apple started with its iPhone right from U.S., where its sole carrier is AT&T, though the company has more carrier options. Perhaps it appears that by doing so, company has restricted the sell of its device. But when we look at the exact figure, it reflects that iPhone almost commands 23% of US smartphone market share according to Nielsen’s recent survey.
This not the end of success rate, when we take a tour of shares in other countries the figure is certainly good. In Japan the number is closer to 72%.  Perhaps iPhone has not just proved itself as a smash hit in America, but in other countries too.
But in other countries, the company has opted for multicarrier strategy and it seems that via this the numbers are even more staggering. Let’s take a tour of iPhone success rate abroad, in Canada where company posses five different carriers, Apple’s share of the mobile market is around 12.4%.
If you look at the shares in France where Orange and two other carrier has the power of selling device, company holds a share of 11.6%. In the meantime, the market share in U.K turns out to be 10%.
But when it comes to shares in U.S mobile market the figure turns out to be just 6.5%. The major reason behind this downfall is that Apple has decided to stick to one major sole distributor, that is AT&T. However, by doing so company is losing its opportunity.
Now lets take a quick look over Google’s Android market. Internationally, the iPhone had a stunning escort over Android devices: 16.7 million iPhones, vs. only 2.9 million Androids being used abroad. But when we look at the rate with which Google is grabbing the market, its difficult to say, who has got the future in their hands. In April, Google was activating less than 100,000 Androids per day; today, the figure stands at more than 200,000!
Perhaps Apple should learn something from its multi-carrier strategies, which it has commanded  in other countries.

Google allows multiple Account Sign In option in same browser

Till date it was possible to sign in into one single account in the same browser, but now google has decided to overcome this flaw. Perhaps this single sign in option in one browser at a time was the most boring thing that we ever like to do.

Google

Sometimes it happens that you have sign in into your gmail account and some of your friend too wants to log in his\her account, at that moment either you have to sign out your Google account or have to switch to some other browser such as Firefox, chrome, safari etc. But now, you don’t have to bother about this matter. Google has confirmed that a user can enjoy the multiple Google account sign in option in the same browser.
However, Google has set some boundaries regarding this; company informed that this advanced option goes for Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Sites, Google Reader, Google Voice, App Engine and Google Code. Further, some changes will be carried out with the login page, as soon as this multiple account option comes into action a drop-down is displayed next to your email address at the top of the page, so you can quickly switch to a new account.
May be Google will take some time to activate this service, however, this will be incorporated soon!!!

PayPal adds Bump Technology to Android 2.0 apps

PayPal has rationalized its Android app Bump technology to bring it on equality with the Apple iPhone. This new cool feature enables the user to just tap two phones together to send cash. This could be very convenient and much easier than typing in a person’s information.
In the meanwhile company said that is not only the feature that has been added with PayPal 2.0 for Android.
It also facilitates you with another great feature, splitting the cheque feature, which lets you automatically calculate the total cost of a bill and then collect money directly from friends when out to dinner. Through this new feature you can be easily paid back on the spot the next time you’re stuck picking up the bill.
The PayPal Android app will also help to stimulate the mobile payment market. PayPal said, “it has already seen this growth, as the company has generated almost twice the volume of mobile payment volume in the first half of the year as it did for all of 2009. In all, it expects 2010 to generate over $500 million in mobile payment volume”.

However, if you will look around, can realize that other competitors such as AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon are also digging down to implement Near-Field Communication, which will again help consumers to pay for their products.
Well!!! NFC approach could be very interesting because you could potentially just filch your phone on a special terminal to pay for products. Indeed this facility is really cool but may be it will need some more time to get implemented.
Perhaps players like PayPal, Visa, and Master card aren’t just going to let go this market over. So, lets watch

this battle, where everybody is good at its own.

HP CEO Mark Hurd resigns over case of sexual aggravation

Well in the corporate world the things really happens, like abusing someone or firing someone from his/her post. But, this is something really strange that happened with HP CEO. HP CEO Mark Hurd just resigned from his post over a sexual harassment investigation. The board of Directors decided that the ex-CEO should resign from his post after a former marketing contractor made a sexual harassment claim against Hurd.
As per the company while there was no violation of its sexual harassment rule, Hurd had submitted inexact outlay reports that hidden his relationship with the contractor, which is a violation of the company’s standards of business conduct. During the question-answer round the company clearly stated that there is a search committee is in the process of finding a new CEO, but they are not identifying any candidates right now.
It seems that Palm’s Jon Rubinstein has high chances of getting the post of CEO of HP. However, Hurd never showed interests in Palm and its smartphone business, and there’s an opportunity to get a new HP CEO that will focus more on webOS software and hardware. Lets see what the company has decided to come-up.

Nokia and Intel to bring MeeGo for upcoming smartphones

Perhaps Nokia N8 will be last release from Nokia’s end which will run Symbian^3. Company has showed sign of this in its previous release, Nokia N900, which runs on Maemo operating system. Actually, Nokia is good with resources in every aspect, but when it goes to high-end cell phones, the company starts lagging behind. Prime reason behind this lag, is its OS. Indeed Nokia has made some good cell phones, but when it comes to application support, it is too much restricted.

But now company has decided to break this limitation. Nokia and Intel have decided to come up with MeeGo. MeeGo is based on Linux platform and is open-source software. It is capable of supporting multiple-hardware and will be formed by merging Intel’s Moblin and Nokia’s Maemo. This will support a wide range of devices including small computers, tablets, netbooks , and smartphones.
MeeGo will support ARM architectures, which are presently used in advanced smartphones & smartbooks and Intel’s Atom processor. It is reported that the first devices would launch in the second half of 2010. The platform will be hosted by the Linux Foundation and both companies expect it to be picked up widely by various device manufacturers, network operators, semiconductor companies, software vendors and developers.
Perhaps MeeGo will stand in a new category of OS and will be capable enough to challenge Android markets. Let’s wait and watch what Nokia shows up next with its new MeeGo plan.

After the launch of iPhone 4, it has been observed that every now and then, different U.S companies are trying to get their hands into the market as iPhone 4 does. Now, its call for Motorola, company has decided to come-up with two more smartphones: Milestone XT720 and Backflip for the Indian market.
At the time of launch Milestone XT720 was priced at Rs.35000, which has now been reduced to Rs.27490, while Backflip was priced at Rs. 23000, which has now been reduced to Rs.19490, for the Indian market. This news has been confirmed through Motorola India.
Motorola Milestone XT720 is an Android based smartphone .The phone looks good at its end and mainly features 8-megapixel camera with xenon flash. The screen size of XT720 is around 3.7-inch WVGA.
On the other hand Backflip comes with reverse flip design and has been priced at Rs. 19490, which is comparatively less than that of Milestone XT720. The smartphone comes with 5-megapixel camera and boasts 3.1-inch HVGA touchscreen with it.
Since both the smartphone comes with Android 2.1, it is expected that both will carry lots of apps offered by Android market.
Perhaps company has realized the fact that by pricing its smartphone at such a high price it would be difficult to grab the market values. As far as HTC devices are concerned, almost all HTC devices which arrives the market this year will get the Froyo update by the end of this year.
